This watch is great if you don't need GPS. I got it over a year ago to help me with intervals during running practice, and it has worked great for the purpose. I like its design and even like wearing it as an everyday watch.
The face tells the date and time, with hours and even seconds. I've mostly used the interval setting to create two intervals of different lengths; when time is up there's a subtle beep to tell you that a new interval has begun. The sound is pretty quiet so if you are wearing headphones and listening to music you might not hear it. There's also a stopwatch option, and a night light. Controls are pretty easy.
